Fruteira Casca
Fruteira casca natural is a ceramic bowl manufactured in Brazil at the studio Cores da Terra. The bowl is designed by Selma Calheira, founder of the studio, and produced following a modern interpretation of the traditional Japanese raku firing technique. A charred colour is achieved by baking the clay with sawdust in an oxygen reduced environment. The brown colour is produced during the cooling process after baking, when the clay is exposed to smoke from different types of wood and leaves. Fruteira casca natural testifies to the mastery of Selma Calheira as a ceramist and to the sustainable production methods used at Cores da Terra.
